For the purposes of this statement, the term “cookies” shall also refer to the other tracking tools used by the Site, as better described below.

The following information is provided for the Site and not for other websites of third parties that may be consulted by the user through links.

NAVIGATION DATA, COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TOOLS

Navigation

This information is not collected in order to be associated with identified persons, but by its very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified.

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate the Site acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.

This category of data includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users who connect to the Site, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and computer environment.

This data is used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the Site and to check its correct operation, and is deleted immediately after processing.

The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of hypothetical computer crimes to the detriment of the Site: except in this case, the data are stored for the time defined by the relevant legal regulations or, in general, for the time strictly necessary to provide the user with the requested service.

As a rule, cookies are text strings that websites (so-called publishers or “first parties”) visited by the user or different websites or web servers (so-called “third parties”) place and store – directly, in the case of publishers, and indirectly, i.e. through them, in the case of “third parties” – within a terminal device available to the user. The terminals referred to are, for example, a personal computer, a tablet, a smartphone, or any other device capable of storing information.

Software for surfing the Internet and operating these devices, such as browsers, can store cookies and then transmit them back to the sites that generated them on a subsequent visit by the same user, thus keeping a record of his or her previous interaction with one or more websites.

The information encoded in cookies may include personal data, such as an IP address, user name, unique identifier or email address, but may also contain non-personal data, such as language settings or information about the type of device a person is using to browse the site.

Cookies can therefore perform important and diverse functions including, session tracking, storing information on specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, facilitating the enjoyment of online content etc. They can, for example, be used to keep track of items in an online shopping cart or information used to fill out a computer form. Through cookies it is possible to allow web pages to load faster, as well as to route information on a network – in line, therefore, with fulfilments strictly related to the very operation of websites – as well as through cookies it is also possible to convey behavioural advertising and to measure the effectiveness of the advertising message, i.e. to conform the type and modalities of the services rendered to the user’s behaviour that was previously observed.

Types of cookies

Cookies and other tracking tools may have different characteristics from a temporal point of view and therefore be considered according to their duration (session or permanent), or from a subjective point of view (depending on whether the publisher acts independently or on behalf of the ‘third party’). However, the classification that mainly meets user protection requirements is the one based on two macro categories.

Like cookies, other tracking tools can also be categorised according to a number of different criteria, of which the main one remains, however, the purpose for which they are used: technical or commercial.

These cookies are used for the sole purpose of ‘carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the contracting party or user to provide such a service’ (see Article 122(1) of the Privacy Code);

The installation of technical cookies does not require the prior consent of users. However, all browsers allow you to change cookie settings. These settings can usually be found in the ‘options’ or ‘preferences’ menu of the user’s browser. To understand these settings, the following links may be helpful. Or you can use the ‘Help’ option in your browser for more information.

If the use of technical cookies is blocked, the service offered to the user through the Site will be limited, thus affecting the user’s experience of the Site.

These cookies are used to link specific actions or behavioural patterns recurring in the use of the offered functionalities (patterns) to specific identified or identifiable subjects, in order to group the different profiles within homogeneous clusters of different sizes, so that the owner can, among other things, modulate the provision of the service in an increasingly personalised manner beyond what is strictly necessary for the provision of the service, as well as send targeted advertising messages, i.e. in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web; this type of cookie can be downloaded to the user’s terminal only with the user’s consent.

This category also includes cookies used to enable interaction and easy sharing of content on social networks and/or to enable the sending of targeted advertisements based on user preferences (“social cookies”).

Cookies may also be used, inter alia, to assess the effectiveness of an information society service provided by a publisher, to design a website or to help measure its “traffic”, i.e. the number of visitors, including by geographic area, connection time or other characteristics. These identifiers, defined as analytics cookies, may be included in the category of technical cookies, and as such may be used in the absence of prior acquisition of the consent of the data subject, provided that the following conditions are met:

If these conditions are not met, analytics cookies also require the user’s consent in order to be downloaded.

The information collected through cookies is mainly processed within the European Economic Area (EEA). Certain third party cookies, however, may result in the relevant information being transferred outside the EEA. In this case the Company has taken additional technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of any personal data transmitted with the information collected by the cookie, favouring where possible the anonymisation of the same. In any event, any transfer is made in compliance with Chapter V of the Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) e.g. because towards the third country there is an adequacy decision by the European Commission pursuant to Article 45 of the GDPR or because the transfer is made on the basis of adequate safeguards pursuant to Article 46 of the GDPR.

For detailed information with respect to such transfers, you will be able to write to the company at any time using the details in Section 3 below. Contacts.

This Site makes use of both technical and profiling cookies, including analytical and other tracking tools.
